Everlasting Elders Art Workshop – City of Bayswater – June 2025
Our Everlasting Elders Art Workshop was held on Wednesday 11th June, and what a huge success it was.
We hosted over 20 Aboriginal Elders and 15 students from John Forrest College who came together to connect and share art.
Renowned Aboriginal artist and weaver Sharyn Egan joined us to share her art journey which was followed by a painting session.
We celebrated NAIDOC 2025 at the Art Workshop where the students and Elders painted personal reflections on the “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.” We are so proud of what they produced.
Our Elders generously share their timeless wisdom, passed down through countless generations, while the next generation brings fresh perspectives and boundless energy. This beautiful exchange creates a ripple effect of resilience, understanding, and leadership. It is not just about preserving culture; it’s about watching it flourish, stronger and more vibrant with every passing year.
The impact is already being felt in the classrooms. School leaders have shared heartwarming feedback, including:

“Many students are sharing stories they’ve learned from the Elders with their families when they return home.”

These moments of connection are more than just events; they are life-changing milestones for both our Elders and the students, laying the foundation for a future next generation, where cultural pride and respect are at the core of all that we do.
